About This Blog:

The primary purpose of this blog is to showcase the best of my aviation photography. As such, you will find links to my main aviation gallery on Facebook containing photos from aircraft spotting, some kind of aviation event such as air shows and fly-in events, as well as aviation museums. I also critique my flights on commercial airlines and the services they provide. Occassionally, you'll find personally written, independent articles based on news and current events involving aviation. And of course, I'll put up links to official and unofficial aviation-related websites when I find them. And when time permits, I'll talk and discuss about anything involving aviation. But most importantly, this is my way to document my journey into the aviation industry!

Gallery Update: Chasing an Ultimate Air Shuttle ERJ-135

I noticed on FlightAware.com that an Embraer ERJ-135 was scheduled to arrive in Provo in the late-afternoon/early-evening. And the jet was being operated by Ultimate Air Shuttle, a commuter airline based in Cincinnati, Ohio that operates services as public charter flights that operate on a published schedule and are sold to the public. The airline began operations in 2009 to serve key Midwest and East Coast routes that were reduced by Delta Air Lines and now-defunct regional subsidiary Comair following the Delta/Northwest merger.

The key to Ultimate Air Shuttle's business model is to serve destinations on a time driven basis. The airline is also known for offering passenger benefits that many carriers in the U.S. have long since abandoned, including no baggage fees, no cancellation fees, and the ability to arrive at the airport 15 minutes before scheduled departures. Ultimate Air Shuttle offers complimentary drinks on all flights, a light breakfast on morning flights and a fruit, cheese and meat tray on evening flights.

Ultimate Air Shuttle commenced services with a fleet of Dornier Do-328JETs and currently operate nine of them in their overall fleet. The airline added an Embraer ERJ-135 to the fleet in November 2015.

Airframe first delivered to American Eagle Airlines as N723AE in August 2000; it went into storage at Kingman, Arizona in September 2013. ViaAir took possession of the airframe and re-registered it to the current N-number in April 2015 and operated it until September 2015 before sending it back to storage in Kingman. Ultimate Jetcharters, parent company of Ultimate Air Shuttle took up the airframe in November 2015 and has been operating it ever since.
