About This Blog:

The primary purpose of this blog is to showcase the best of my aviation photography. As such, you will find links to my main aviation gallery on Facebook containing photos from aircraft spotting, some kind of aviation event such as air shows and fly-in events, as well as aviation museums. I also critique my flights on commercial airlines and the services they provide. Occassionally, you'll find personally written, independent articles based on news and current events involving aviation. And of course, I'll put up links to official and unofficial aviation-related websites when I find them. And when time permits, I'll talk and discuss about anything involving aviation. But most importantly, this is my way to document my journey into the aviation industry!

Gallery Update: First Spotting Trip of 2020

My first spotting trip for 2020 is at (no surprise!) Portland. I had to drive up to pick up my aunt and uncle who were coming home from California as they've been out of town since after Christmas. My dad was originally going to pick them up, but he then had to skip town because my sister recently accepted a job offer in Utah, so he accompanied her to help her get set up. So that left me as the only option to make this airport run! As usual, I took this as an opportunity to make a spotting trip out of it, my 50th time plane-spotting at Portland International Airport!

There wasn't really anything exciting or noteworthy on this trip as I had originally intended to drive up a little bit earlier to catch a few things I would've loved to have photograph, but I decided to sleep in after a long week of work! I'll definitely be planning on a few spotting trips to Portland this year as there are several inaugural flights I'd like to catch! I've already mentioned British Airways, which has already announced flights between Portland and London-Heathrow starting June 1.

I will most-likely come up to photograph Delta Air Lines' inaugural flight to Tokyo-Haneda on March 28, which will be replacing the Tokyo-Narita route; the reasoning behind why I want to see this inaugural is because Delta will be operating the Airbus A330-200 on this route and I have yet to photograph one with my DSLR camera! Another new and recent announcement came from JSX (formerly known as JetSuiteX), as they will commence five daily flights between Portland and Seattle-Boeing Field, which is effectively picking up where the now-defunct SeaPort Airlines left off! With JetSuiteX having just re-branded into JSX, this would be a great opportunity to catch one of their ERJ-135 (and possibly an ERJ-145!) in their new livery! JSX starts flights between Portland and Seattle on April 2. Already quite a few inaugural flights to look forward to!
