About This Blog:

The primary purpose of this blog is to showcase the best of my aviation photography. As such, you will find links to my main aviation gallery on Facebook containing photos from aircraft spotting, some kind of aviation event such as air shows and fly-in events, as well as aviation museums. I also critique my flights on commercial airlines and the services they provide. Occassionally, you'll find personally written, independent articles based on news and current events involving aviation. And of course, I'll put up links to official and unofficial aviation-related websites when I find them. And when time permits, I'll talk and discuss about anything involving aviation. But most importantly, this is my way to document my journey into the aviation industry!

Gallery Update: Some Quick "Golden Hour" Spotting from Salem

After doing a late-afternoon/early-evening local flight practicing commercial maneuvers, I got my camera out and got a few photos from around the ramp at Salem during some prime, "golden hour" lighting conditions. There were a few aircraft I've seen before that I've been wanting to photograph and I couldn't have asked for a better opportunity considering some of the lighting conditions in conjunction with the setting sun!

Preview:

Cessna 172S Skyhawk II (N2114Q) parked on the ramp.

Cessna T206H Stationair (N1488T) parked on the ramp. Arrived a few days earlier from Caldwell, Idaho.

Cessna 551 Citation II/SP (N551GE) parked on the ramp. A locally-based jet that arrived earlier this afternoon from Mountain Home, Idaho.

Van's RV-7A (N174AJ) parked on the ramp.

Piper PA-28-180 Cherokee Challenger (N15741) parked on the ramp. The "Challenger" name for the Piper Cherokee family was a short-lived trend as it the type typically has nicknames associated with Native American Indian names.
