About This Blog:

The primary purpose of this blog is to showcase the best of my aviation photography. As such, you will find links to my main aviation gallery on Facebook containing photos from aircraft spotting, some kind of aviation event such as air shows and fly-in events, as well as aviation museums. I also critique my flights on commercial airlines and the services they provide. Occassionally, you'll find personally written, independent articles based on news and current events involving aviation. And of course, I'll put up links to official and unofficial aviation-related websites when I find them. And when time permits, I'll talk and discuss about anything involving aviation. But most importantly, this is my way to document my journey into the aviation industry!

Gallery Update: PDX Morning Rush

Last night, I saw on FlightAware and FlightRadar24 that one of Alaska Airline's Airbus A321neos still in the Virgin America livery was in Portland. Knowing that the plane would inevitably be repainted into the Alaska livery eventually, I decided to get up early this morning to go see and photograph it. Unfortunately, the drive up to Portland at the start of rush hour royally screwed me out of the opportunity today, so I'll have to catch it another time... But it wasn't a total loss as there were several other notable highlights photographed this morning.

For starters, I got to see a pair of Boeing 757s operated by FedEx for the first time, which is unusual because they're flying into PDX all the time. It would seem that they arrive and depart soon after during the early morning hours only. Another cargo highlight was a Boeing 767 in the full ABX Air livery. In addition to the few cargo heavies spotted and photographed this morning, I got a few notable cargo feeders worth catching as well. Another first for me was finally seeing a few ex-Virgin America Airbus A319s now sporting the current Alaska Airlines livery. And finally, I got a special livery from United Airlines.
