About This Blog:

The primary purpose of this blog is to showcase the best of my aviation photography. As such, you will find links to my main aviation gallery on Facebook containing photos from aircraft spotting, some kind of aviation event such as air shows and fly-in events, as well as aviation museums. I also critique my flights on commercial airlines and the services they provide. Occassionally, you'll find personally written, independent articles based on news and current events involving aviation. And of course, I'll put up links to official and unofficial aviation-related websites when I find them. And when time permits, I'll talk and discuss about anything involving aviation. But most importantly, this is my way to document my journey into the aviation industry!

Gallery Update: Interesting Sights at Salem

Before going up for a flight today, I did some spotting from my flight club hangars at Salem. Needless to say, there were some interesting sightings. I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

Salem (SLE)

Preview:

Gulfstream Aerospace GVI G650ER (N449MT) taxiing for departure.

N449MT airborne off 31.

Rans S-21 Outbound (N229PW) taxiing to parking after arriving on 34 from Bend.

I really like this livery!

Air SF Flight Service Pilatus PC-12/47E (N731NG) taxiing for departure as XSN73 for Healdsburg, California.

XSN73 departing on 34 for Healdsburg.

Beechcraft A45/T-34A Mentor (N4WL) taxiing for departure to Medford. This was a pleasant surprise to see!

Arrived earlier from Bremerton, Washington, stopping in Salem for fuel before continuing on southbound.

Registered as a Beechcraft A45, the civilian model designation of the T-34 trainer. It was designated as such because there was no defense budget for a military trainer at the time while Beechcraft and Walter Beech (who developed the T-34) hoped they could sell it as an economical alternative to the North American T-6 Texan family of trainers, which was still in widespread use at the time.

Always neat to see a post-war era warbird!

Piper PA-28R-180 Arrow (N3287R) taxiing for departure to Corvallis.

Flight Design CTSW (N248CT) taxiing for departure to McMinnville.

N4WL airborne off 34 for Medford.
