About This Blog:

The primary purpose of this blog is to showcase the best of my aviation photography. As such, you will find links to my main aviation gallery on Facebook containing photos from aircraft spotting, some kind of aviation event such as air shows and fly-in events, as well as aviation museums. I also critique my flights on commercial airlines and the services they provide. Occassionally, you'll find personally written, independent articles based on news and current events involving aviation. And of course, I'll put up links to official and unofficial aviation-related websites when I find them. And when time permits, I'll talk and discuss about anything involving aviation. But most importantly, this is my way to document my journey into the aviation industry!

Gallery Update: An Allegiant Smorgasbord (Kind of...)

Okay, I wouldn't consider three separate airframes a smorgasbord, but considering that Allegiant operates on limited frequencies out of Provo dependent on what day of the week it is, three aircraft are better than none! So today I ended up photographing in between flying and classes three aircraft arriving into Provo throughout the day; another Boeing 757 chartered by BYU for their upcoming game against Michigan State University this Saturday, and two scheduled Airbus A319s. On the note of the 757, the BYU football team might be of some use to me! If they continue to charter Allegiant Air's soon-to-be retired fleet of 757s, I might just have a chance at photographing what's left of their active fleet! As of today, I got a third airframe with only one more to go; Allegiant currently has four total 757s active in their fleet with two already retired (makes one wonder what BYU will do after the airline phases out the 757 for future seasons...). Here's the link:

Allegiant Air Boeing 757-204 (N905NV) arriving on 13 after a ferry flight from Las Vegas as AAY4407 to pick up the BYU football team. Originally delivered to Britannia Airways in 1994 as G-BYAO before being transferred to Thomsonfly in 2004, then to Thomson Airways in 2009 while under lease from AerCap. Withdrawn from British use in 2011 and returned to lessor before being acquired by Allegiant in 2012.

This is the third Allegiant 757 airframe I've photographed to date! There is only one more active 757 in the Allegiant fleet I have yet to photograph!

Allegiant Airbus A319-112 (N303NV) arriving on 13 as AAY1007 from San Diego. It's been a week since Allegiant started service to San Diego from Provo.

Allegiant Air Airbus A319-112 (N325NV) arriving on 13 from Phoenix-Mesa as AAY132. This airframe started its service career as an A319-111 equipped with two CFMI CFM56-5B5/P engines and flew for EasyJet as G-EZAH in 2006 before being transferred to EasyJet Switzerland as HB-JZW in 2010. Allegiant acquired this airframe earlier this year and modified to A319-112 standards with two CFMI CFM56-5B6/P engines.
