About This Blog:

The primary purpose of this blog is to showcase the best of my aviation photography. As such, you will find links to my main aviation gallery on Facebook containing photos from aircraft spotting, some kind of aviation event such as air shows and fly-in events, as well as aviation museums. I also critique my flights on commercial airlines and the services they provide. Occassionally, you'll find personally written, independent articles based on news and current events involving aviation. And of course, I'll put up links to official and unofficial aviation-related websites when I find them. And when time permits, I'll talk and discuss about anything involving aviation. But most importantly, this is my way to document my journey into the aviation industry!

Gallery Update: Chasing a Beechcraft 1900C from a New Spotting Location

I noticed that Alpine Air Express was sending in one of their Beechcraft 1900s into Provo today. Once again, I credit FlightAware for this opportunity. Better yet, I credit Flightradar24 for verifying that the aircraft I was chasing after was an airframe I've never seen before. Feeling a little adventurous, I decided to try out a new spotting location on the west side of the airport along a perimeter road that also doubles as a dike for Utah Lake. I've noticed that this road is often frequented by hikers and joggers and I could see why; on a nice day like it was today, you just can't beat the view. I for one am glad I gave this new spotting location a shot considering that I've gotten bored with shooting photos on the east side of the airport via the UVU ramp and buildings. I got some great photos with an excellent backdrop today by spotting on the west side on the airport dike road! Here's the link:

Last time I photographed a 1900C operated by Alpine Air, it was an airframe with modifications that allowed for additional cargo capacity. This time, it's a normal 1900C airframe and I'm glad I got to see one like this.

Airframe was originally delivered as N1566C to Conquest Airlines in 1988. It then went to the Caribbean and flew for Turks and Caicos Airways starting in 1992. In 1999, the airframe was converted as a freighter and went to up to Alaska to be operated by Alaska Central Express-ACE; during it's time with ACE, it was re-registered as N114AX. It then went back to the Caribbean in some time between 2005-2007 and flew for Puerto Rico Air Management Services (PRAMS) before going to Alpine Air Express in 2009.

I just LOVE the backdrop I was photographing against as depicted in this photo!
